The Rice Addict

I love rice and I love to cook and bake so this is what it’s all about.

Get An Insurance September 3, 2010

When we went camping, so many of the campers used an rv. It’s convenient to have one, that way you don’t need to worry about shower and water, and washing dishes too. There must be a lot of rv owners especially during summer and I’m sure they need rv insurance quote. Summer is always fun to do outdoor stuff and I will miss it. Now we’re going into fall season which means it’s crabbing season. Yeah! I would love to go crabbing really soon.

Vacation Place September 2, 2010

I was looking at vacation rental places and I found Carolina Designs online. This is in North Carolina which would be nice to see because I bet it’s different compared to where we are. I check the Duck vacation rentals rates and it’s quite reasonable. If we have the money to go there soon, we would because it’s really nice to spend some time away from here.

This place has all kinds of features that comes with the house like swimming pool, xbox for your kids to enjoy, gas grill for cooking, and many others. It also has hot tub which I would love to use. It would be a dream come true to go there.

Did someone say Diamonds? August 25, 2010

Even a short while after Steven and I met online, I knew that he was a good man and that I wanted to marry him. Of course, I tried to protect my heart just in case he wasn’t who I thought. Thankfully, he was!
Steven also had a feeling that I was the girl for him even a short while after we started communicating. He said he was already shopping fordiamond engagement rings after 3 or 4 months of having known each other. He didn’t buy one right away, of course, but he was keeping his eye out. Actually, he ended up ordering the diamond and the ring separately by buying them from a wholesaler. He got an amazing deal. The ring appraises at over $3,500 but he got it for just over $1,000 because he didn’t go through a jewelry store.

Logger Cake August 23, 2010

Steven brought me to this diner where they serve Logger Cake. They’re huge pancakes because loggers have big appetites. This is what they’re famous for and I can’t believe how big it was. We really enjoyed it together with omelette which is also a really big serving. The diner is called Vida Cafe, I don’t know what the name is of the road is but it’s going to Cougar Reservoir, also near Leaburg Lake. I can’t wait to go back there again!

A Phone Call Away August 17, 2010

Ever since Steven moved to the Philippines, we haven’t had cell phones. Many people ask us how we can survive without a cell phone, but really it’s not that difficult. I find that many people use their cell phone just to talk about nothing anyway. Most of the things we discuss on the phone can either go without saying or can wait to be discussed. So, instead, we have a Skype phone number that is run through VOIP.
It really works great. But I would like to have the freedom to walk away from my computer if I’m having a conversation with someone. I really get tired of just sitting at the computer.
I have been looking at cordless phone reviews to see if there is a phone that would be compatible with Skype. That way I can walk around the house while I talk and do other things.
It may not be a cell phone, but it would be nice to not have to tied to a cord to talk to friends or family.

What John Grisham Has Done to Me August 16, 2010

One of my dreams has always been to go to law school. I think it started with reading John Grisham novels back in middle school. Although I’m sure law school or being a lawyer is really nothing like a John Grisham novel, those books have created a fascination with law for me. The University of Oregon now has a very nice law school. Well, I guess they have had one for many years, but now they have a very nice law building. Every time I see that building–or read a new Grisham novel–I think of grabbing some lsat prep books and trying my best to get accepted into the program. My biggest question though is whether practicing law is really as glamorous as Grisham makes it out to be. I need some practical insight into the real daily life of a lawyer. I must admit though, I’m very competitive and I like the idea of studying for the LSAT and just seeing if I’m smart enough to get accepted.

Baby Adam August 16, 2010

I’m so happy for my good friend today. She just gave birth to a healthy baby boy and he is such a cutie. We gave her son a gift for his birthday and the mommy a gift too. Plus, anytime we go visit another Filipino, it is our custom to bring some form of gift. Steven and I had already spent the whole day shopping for camping gear and were tired but there were some really good deals at redenvelope, so we decided to buy the gifts.
The more pregnant I become, the more I love to see babies. Adam, my friend’s new baby boy, is so adorable. I can’t wait for Aiden to be born so I can hold him and kiss him…..and get some gifts too. hehe

Paper Towels or Hand Blowers August 15, 2010

Filed under: Uncategorized — Aisha @ 8:23 PM

If I were to choose between paper towel hand dryers or just the blower hand dryer, I think I would prefer the blower one. We won’t be wasting paper anymore so it’s nicer and there won’t be a lot of trash in the toilet. Many times people just trash the public toilet but the thing I like about paper towels is you can use it to hold the door open after washing your hand. I would not want to hold the door knob after washing.

Fixing The Door August 10, 2010

Our doorknob from the second bedroom is broken. I need a new Kwikset doorknob to put on it before the baby is born. I know I won’t need to close it when the baby is inside but sometimes the wind bangs the door and it will wake our baby up for sure. I also want to prepare it in case my mom is able to come here this or next year. It will be hard for me to take care of the baby by myself, I would be scared. It’s always nice to have a mom around.

Sleeping Clothes August 4, 2010

One of the clothes I miss wearing at night is a lingerie. Before I got pregnant I used to wear mine but now I don’t feel so sexy anymore that’s why I really don’t wear it. I did bought an expensive one early this year and I think that lingerie caused us to have a baby. I’m glad I bought it and my husband loves it when I wear one. Can’t wait to wear them again.
