We also need renters insurance, so we may try to see if the life insurance company can cut us a deal if we get our home insurance with the same company. Our landlord recently told us a story of another tenant who flooded her upstairs apartment when her sink backed up. Unfortunately, she was out of town and it completely trashed the apartment. If she had renters insurance everything would have been covered.
We just want to be cautious and prepared.

Steven and I have been planning our funerals as of late. No, no, we’re not planning on croaking anytime soon. But Steven thinks it prudent to make plans just in case it may occur sometime before we’re 100. He’s planning on getting some insurance quotes on life insurance terms for the two of us. The question now is, “How much is enough?” It’s tempting to contract for a big amount, but is it really necessary?
How Fit is Fit Enough? January 4, 2010
Steven’s employer recently had him complete a health survey in exchange for a $260 credit on his annual gym membership. He has completed the same survey in the past for them and there has never been an issue. This year, however, they said he’s at high risk due to his nutrition and weight. I’m not sure why they think that.
Now he must meet with a fitness counselor 9 times over the next year to try to decrease his weight from 230 to 205! Steven is not overweight. Yes, he has been eating more sweets recently but he exercises daily and generally tries to watch his caloric intake. It’s just annoying that they are making him go through these counseling sessions when his fitness level is well above average. It’s not like he needs to be taking appetite suppressants or phentermine or something to that effect.
He just needs to eat a little bit less of the delicious desserts I make him. lol
